Default Leaking problem on passenger side...

I have a moser 9". I used the bearings that they sent me. My passenger side is leaking pretty bad. Covers my caliper, rotor, and inside of wheel. It's not leaking on the outer part of the bearing where the small black seal is, its in the middle of the bearing. I'm not sure how it's leaking right there but it is. I can't use any kind of silicone because the axle spins where it is leaking. Do I need to get a new bearing or something?

I highlighted in red where it's leaking at. These are not my bearings but I have the same ones.

Did you fill the gear oil to the bottom of the fill hole located on the driver side of the center section? It sounds like you may have to much gear lube in there. Bob

Why does my passenger side leak and not my drivers side? Seems like they would both leak if I put a lot in, which I did. Probably 3-4 quarts.

Our road typically are crowned to drain water off to the curbs. You should of filled your rear to the bottom of the fill hole, shown in the picture here. Bob

3" but I don't have any part numbers.

I'll drain the fluid out until the correct amount is left in it and see how it does.

That should take care of it for you. I take it you filled it up through the vent hole on top of the driver side axle? Bob

There is actually a nice shiney cap on the back side of the rear end. About the size of a half dollar. I filled it up using that. I wasn't aware using too much could make it leak.

Gotcha, you ordered yours with the optional fill plug. You still have to remove the side plug and fill it to where it just starts to trickle out of the side plug. Let me know if it takes care of your oil leak. Thanks. Bob

Alright draining the oil out to the level it should be did not fix the problem. Where the red line is, is there a seal there that keeps the oil from coming out? Should I replace the bearing? Thanks for any help.

BTW, I do not have an inner seal on either side. But only the pass side leaks.

I'd replace the bearing and add an inner seal. Here are the part numbers from Napa. Bob

- Napa Replacement part numbers for nine inch wheel bearings and seals.
Bearing: 88128-R
Inside Seal: 15142

Alright I bought the parts. This napa bearing does not have the rubber seal on it like the one I got from moser. I suppose just use some silicone around the outside of the bearing when I put it in?

Which way do I slide the inner seal on?
