I think i blew up my rear end... HELP!!!
So to make a long story short i went for a burnout and all i got was an extremely loud BANG and the worst grinding noise i've ever heard. I tried to move and all i got was more of that grinding with NO movement.. The car shifts gears fine and the drive shaft seems to be alright from peeking under the car..
So does that sound like a blown rear end??
Also I have a deal lined up tomorrow for another 10 bolt rear end for 250.00 it comes with everything including the abs disc brakes rotors and calipers and all the hardware..
Which brings me to my next question.. Will a 1994 LT1 10 bolt be a DIRECT bolt in to my 1999 LS1..??
Thank You,
Eric

im pretty sure its mounted in the center on top of the diff.. i know my car has ABS and does NOT have Traction Control.. but where would the sensors be if they were axle mounted?

I had a similar issue the other day but. I got the car up yesterday and found that my torque arm was ripped on top bottom and the side. I haven't pulled the diff off yet but I will have to get pictures on here cause it looks pretty wicked.

Traction control reads off the wheel speed sensors. IIRC... It doesn't effect the rear directly. It'll just kill the throttle from an "intercept" point or the box under the hood for ASR cars.
