hey wats up everybody? i have a 2000 ws6 and my rear differential broke, and im wondering if i have a 6 spd, with the Gu6 (3.42) gears; and im trying to buy a new rear end, could i use a differential out of a 2000 automatic z28 and wat difference would it make? i know it will have different gears so im just wondering what will happen if i buy this particular differential or would u just recommend me buying a rear end out of a car that is a 6 spd already? please let me know

its just a lower ratio. you'll have more top speed, but less acceleration.
IMO dont buy any 10 bolt.. and just get a 9"/12 bolt. and never look back.
if not, and you beat on the car at all.. your gonna be replacing them often.

see thats the confusing thing. its a ws6 and i thought the ws6 model was 4 channel but i dont have a traction control switch so im thinking it may be a 3 channel? the 4 channel has postive traction too right? becus my car doesnt even have posi. so im thinking maybe its an aftermarket rear end maybe the owner before me had put in.

yea its going to be off, but i cant imagine by much.
if thats the case why dont you order a new ring and pinion from like summit and have someone or yourself install it. buy GM or MOTIVE.

I was debating on doing that because it is the ring gear that jacked up. its missing teeth but i figure if i do that i mine as well replace the bearings and it would probaly just be cheapest to get a whole differential
