Is 28 true regardless of the series of the carrier? replacing my posi and making sure I have 100% correct info before I start searching. should be 7.5 series 2 with 28 spline axle's correct? Also when looking at posi's they say numerically higher than 3:23 or lower than 3:08 that is regarding the stock gear's right? Thank's and sorry for the noob questions.

for our 1989-2002 f-bods,28 spline. I think 1988 + earlier used 26 spline.
carrier size is the 7.5/7.625(both values are interchangeable) variety.
for stock gears,2.73s' & 3.08s' came on a 2 series carrier,3.23s' & 3.42s' came on a 3 series carrier.
for aftermarket gearsets,3.42s',3.73s',& 4.10s' can be purchased as 'thick' sets to use on a 2 series carrier.
