Diff swap--- 95 into 02 ?
I'm relatively new here and also to F bodies, so please be gentle!
I've done a lot of reading but can't seem to find a solid answer to my question. Can a 95 Z28 diff be swapped into an 01 WS6? The 01 has traction control.
From what I can find, there could be an ABS issue. Also, when I look up various parts (housing, axles etc) I can't seem to find much interchangeability and yet I find it hard to imagine that GM made two completely unique diffs for these cars.
Thanks in advance.

We need more specifics. Whats the drivetrains in each car? V8/V6/M6/A4???
Will it physically fit? Absolutely. Will the e-brake, abs, trac, speedo work? Depends. Whats wrong with the 01's rear? You can just pull the guts out of the 95 rear and swap them in the 01.

Thanks for replying.
The 95 diff is from a T56 car.
The 01 that needs a diff is a WS6 A4 car. The guts in it are pretty much shredded.
From what I can figure, the 95 diff will be a 3.42 and the 01 will be 3.23. The gear change is fine, actually desirable.

I just put a 95 Z28 rear w/ 3.73 gears into my 98 Z28 lastnight. All I did was swap the backing plates, axles, new bearings and seals. It was easy as that. Something I dont have is TC, ABS, E-Brake, I cant help you there. I went from 3.23 to 3.73 and a POSI instead LSD. I love it so far. Big Diff in getting out of the holio
