Gear Backlash
Gear Backlash I'm putting a used set of stock 3.42 GM gears back in my rear and wondered what the backlash should be on used gears. I see most people set them at .008-.012 but that's on new gears.....I got them to .013 right now. I haven't put the axles back in yet, waiting to see what you guys think..........Thanks

On good used OEM gears you can go as tight as .007. This helps take some driveline slop out that is noticable with M6 equiped cars. I always recomend deburing the gear as well to ensure quiet operation.
