I pulled around eight 1.7x 60's this Friday with a 6-speed and 4.10's. I know I'm living on borrowed time but a lot of it is how you drive it. I also have bias ply hoosiers, I think the soft side wall helps take away some of the shock.

azimm1984 Get some studs for the differential carrier caps. Most places that sell the TA cover sell a ARP stud kit for the caps. If you ever take the rear apart use a solid spacer instead of a crush sleeve and shim the carrier bearings as tight as you can without deforming the shims when you drive them in. This will keep your backlash from changing too much under a heavy load.
Speed Inc. sells the TA 1815 stud kit.
Here's a pic of it:

They are strong behind autos, suck *** behind manuals.
Agreed, here's a 1.60 60ft. Did 1.5xs and 1.6xs all night.........

Whats so funny exactly? A ten bolt can take an auto into the 10s. A ten bolt can't take a manual into the 12s. OP has an auto.

the first page with what everyone said is what i thought was funny, hey im not saying a 10 bolt doesnt live longer on a auto, i just do not feel it is worth to make any upgrades to it whatsoever, with winter headed this way there will be tons of rearends etc for sale , i think it would just be a better move to save up untill a good deal comes along, its for sure worth it if the car will be at the track alot,i know autos are alot easier on the 10 bolt ,but no one in this world can tell me its worth it to put any money into one,my buddy picked up a 12 bolt for 1300, he put a few bucks into it and he never has to worry about a rearend again, but add up the cost of gears, cover, stud kit, rebuild kit, weld tubes, etc and if you have someone install the gears the price for a worked 10 bolt can shoot up there pretty fast and you still have something that can fail, thats just my take on it,

why take your car to the track if your not going to absolutely give it hell, that's what these cars are built for, that's my take on it
