i've spent over 2k on my stock 10 bolt........and it still leaks...the only time the pinion stopped leaking was the dealer polished the yoke...they claimed it was rough from the factory...that seemed to help alot.If you have a minor leak from the pion seal area DON"T waste your money trying to fix it...the last time the dealer replaced the seal they put the carrier back in with the wrong shims and it overheated the carrier bearing ruining them. They claimed they did no wrong and it cost me another 200 to get that mess fixed.

Mine used to leak, but then I replaced the pinion seal with one from Napa and haven't had any problems since. Still dry as the day I installed it (~1 year ago).

Mine has a little seepage around it, but no spots on the driveway when it's parked.

The pinion seal need not leak. My factory-installed pinion seal leaked badly from day one. I replaced my pinion seal when I installed 3.73s 10k miles ago and the new seal leaks only very slightly. I credit my success to the post by 00bulehawk#111 early in this thread.

Lol. I just paid to have the seal in my '99 replaced a few weeks ago.
