Default help choosing a rear

I have a 2002 ws6 m6. Full exhaust ( headers back) with monster stage 3 clutch and rebuilt my trans to handle more power. Looking to get a rear before boom goes the dynamite. Figure 12 bolt is not what I want. So looking at either a 9" or a dana 60 from strange. What are the pros and cons for each? Car will be mainly street but may go to the track once or twice. Don't know what my max hp will get to since once I reach it I will want more. Any help would be awesome. New to rear ends. Also want 410 gears in also

The s-60 is a nice bolt in rear end especially if you have an aftermarket torque arm. We sell a bunch of them all year long and they can take some abuse for sure but with that they are very heavy.

One of the most popular rear ends on the market right now is our fabricated rear end package that comes with everything you need and has no fitment issues like a stamped nine but is still in cost with them.

Another perk is the fact ours comes with it's own unique torque arm which you can chose long or short and it has a cross member to go with it. We also supply all needed hardware and our housing comes with e-brake brackets and brake line clips as well as sway bar brackets already on the housing.

If you have any questions please let me know.

9" detroit locker if its more of a strip car, 9" posi if its a mix of street/strip. Having more splines are better so I've heard. Sorry I don't know much about the dana 60... and btw 4.10s are a bit much for a M6, I say you go with 3.73s I.M.O. I guess it's jsut personal preference though.

OP do a search on 4.10s and M6, they are a great match. I can run 80mph at 2200 rpm all day long and still get a great launch out of the hole.

Take a look at the rears I sell at the above link, and since you're from Illinois you won't have to pay sales tax, as I'm in Indiana. I feel that 4.10/4.11's are a good all around gear too. Bob

I agree the Dana or a 9" will help you in the future and be safe, the M6 is hard on the diff if you ever put a tire under it and launch in anger.

I had 4.11s in my 12 bolt with my 412 and it went 10s with out topping out the rev limiter. So if you can rev to 6800rpm you should be good.

3.73's are better if you have an auto and 4.10 or higher if you have a t56 and the S60 dana 60 is what I have in my car.

It depends on where the horsepower bug may lead you. A Moser 9 inch with a Trac-Loc is what I recommend for a lot of my customers, but it depends on whether you have a three channel or four channel combination. Three channel is when you have just ABS, and four channel is when you have ABS and TCS (traction control) The Trac-Loc is not available if the car has just ABS, but it is available if the car also has traction control. Let me know whether you have ABS or ABS/TCS. Thanks. Bob
