Arrow Moser M9 w/ full spool & 4.10s

Recently installed the M9 setup with Full Spool, 35-Spline Axles and 4.11 gears. I had one of my local mechanics swap the gears from the 4.56s that came in it to a 4.11 gear ratio because the T-56 is killin me with the 4.56s lol..So I picked up the car the other day and there is still a loud whining noise after 55-60mph. I can start to hear a slight whining in 4th gear then 5th and 6th is really loud. I talked to the guy who done the swap and he told me that he done the best he could but he didnt think the pinion depth was 100% and he didnt know what it should be in that rear end. I ordered the shim kit with solid spacer from moser to help set up the gears perfect but he couldnt get the noise out. Is there any way to get the whining out? what should be my next step? Is there a performance shop anywhere in the South who can do work on a M9??

New gears? If not, and they weren't set up exactly as they were broke in new, it will whine. Pinion depth should be marked on the end of the pinion.

If it comes down to it, honestly I would send the pig back to Moser and have them set it up.

Also, a good rule of thumb, if the gears are new, you have 500 miles before the gears are permentaly broke in to set it up correctly. After that, your stuck with it.

The standard Moser 9 inch and the fabricated Moser M9 both use the same center section. Anyone in your area who is good with 9 inch rears can do the job for you. Bob

Ok, so the pinion depth that it should be set to will be marked on the end of the pinion. I'm gonna take it to one more guy who supposedly is great with rear ends lol.. Supposedly /: ) I just want the loud whining gone. It's aggravating. I'm assuming he set the preload and backlash correct for it.. He didn't mention that.
