10 bolt question about diff fluid hi guys i have a bone stock 2000 ws6 trans am with a 10 bolt 3.42s with rpo code G80 i am changing diff fluid tomorrow and have bought all the parts when i went to gm i bought the gasket and fluid and friction modifier additive for limited slip my question is the owners manual recomended synthetic gear lube and the guy at the parts counter said not run synthetic, even though the owners manual for the car says to run synthetic wht do you guys think
Also what is the torque on the diff cover bolts thanks

For a '99+ torsen limited slip, GM recommends a 75w90 synthetic lube, GM part #12378261.
For a '98 with the auburn limited slip, GM recommends an 80w90 conventional lube, GM part #89021669.
These are the fluids I would use and have used for those respective years, plus the GM LSD additive.

I have used high tack gasket sealant, but never RTV. If I remember correctly, they used a double gasket from the factory (or at least that's how my '98 was, and I'm 100% sure that was original).
