Not sure what you think cam surge is, but it's exactly what you described in the first post. Bucking under light throttle at steady speeds at low RPM.

I know what the bucking the OP is talking about. My rear end did the same before it went out and I upgrade to a 9". You don't always feel it at "cam surge RPMs", but cam surge certainly amplifies it x100!

No there is still shock on tip in above 3000 rpm as well.

I had my vindicator with 3.42' before it was re-tuned again, I know what the cam surge your talking about. Like when you let the clutch out to get it rolling and the car wants to lurch as the engine turns over type thing.

Bumping this back up from the dead

To the OP, did you ever get this issue figured out? I have a MWC 9" with spool and mid 230's cam so I was figuring it was the nature of the setup. So was it the tune? When I'm under the car and turn the driveshaft, there is NO play.
