Good write up. I order a complete Strange 12 volt rear end in 2008 and no issues whatsoever. I have 4:10 gears and it does not howl and is super quiet. I believe you will really like this package.

Did you have to modify the torque arm at all to fit the Strange TA mount? I know it's a common practice on the Moser but this looks similar to stock.

I just bought the strange 12 bolt complete rear with 3 channel abs from one of the sponsors here, and was wondering how that Rustoleum paint is holding up on your rear.

Good, you have to mindful of jackstacks on the axle tubes and stuff but other then that its fine.

Do you think the new TA performance low profile cover will clear that upper panhard support. They claim it will give 3/4 of a inch more of clearance.

Default Strange Rear

Did you order the rear stock length, or 2-3" shorter?

If you ordered it shorter, what reference measurement did you give to Strange? They told me that they wanted the dimension either between axle faces or backing plate faces.

Thanks.

I had my Strange 12 bolt installed back in 2002....all the heavy duty upgrades and 33 spline with TCS hookups.

13 years later......100% silent and smooth operator.

I changed one bad bearing in 13 years and one axle seal.

Great rear-ends.....

I also have the strange 12 bolt but ive only had it for about a year. 3.42 gears. so far so good. didnt feel much heavier than the stock 10bolt but you can tell its much stronger. got it powdercoated so hopefully that lasts a while. torque arm mounted right up. only thing that sucks about it is theres no more side fluid fill so you have to add fluid from the cover and its harder that way because of the angle to get the fluid in there.

Strange machines the hole up top for the abs sensor whether you need it or not. Remove the sensor or plug and fill from the top if thats easier.
