curious about beefing up 10 bolt
may seem like a noob question, but is there any sponsors on here that makes a bigger, stronger, diff? on ws6 store they have a moser auburn limited slip, and an eaton posi but both are 28 spline? can they make a diff with 30 splines or 33, etc with stronger axels. i am just thinking about beefing up the old 10 bolt without doing a full swap and price tag and something that can be done in a few hours.

There have been many others that have asked similar questions, and all have been given the same response: don't waste your time (or money). You'll still be handicapped by the small ring and pinion, and you really can't do much to beef up a differential in that small of a housing. A 10-bolt with 33 spline axles would be about as strong as a 10-bolt with 28 spline axles...you just took away one of many weak points.

Meent is right. Don't waste your time and money. Your sig doesn't say what you're putting it in but the 10 bolt seems to live with 350 or less and a M6 and 400 or so with a A4. If sticky tires are in your future fugetaboutit. The high performance replacement parts for the 10 bolt cost the same as the equivalent parts for much stouter rear ends and when you're done you are still handicaped by the 7.5s small size. You'll drop a grand in the 10 bolt trying to beef it up, that money would be better spent saving for a better rear like a Strange S60. I put about $600 in a spare 10 bolt I'm running now with 4.10s and It's working good but I'm not running sticky tires and I did all the build up work myself. I still half regret spending the money as I could only get $350 or so If I sold it.

Well I would be putting them in a car that I am soon to purchase. It has an lq4 and putting down 450 whp and 435 tq. Its gonna be my cruiser and dd so I am looking to reinforce but not swap it. Its not gonna see track, prolly ever cuz I live in a small town but I do want it to be able to hold the power so tires are gonna be the usual hp ones, no drag radials. That's why I didn't see a need to swap out for a s60 or 12 bolt. Maybe an 8.8 if it was built right and on the cheap and no modifications to my car to work.

I just broke a worm gear bolt in my 10 bolt. Never saw sticky tires never did stupid burnouts with ti. Just having fun on the street killed it. Car makes 413rwhp/372rwtq through a M6
This will kill a 10 bolt...

Since your a manual trans car, I have to go w everyone else and say get a better rear.
Btw, people DO buy used 10 bolt's, so don't just dump it. You can get a couple hundred to help offset the cost of whatever rear you decide to go with.

V6 guys will buy them because as stock (or near stock) v6 typically won't break it, but they want the better gear ratio or the posi unit. My old 98 V6 I had for example had a 3.08 open rear from the factory, it sucked. I upgraded it to a 3.42 torsen unit that had been pulled from an LS1 fbody.
