Any S60 spool install how to's???
I gotta change my 4.10 to a 3.55 ASAP and since Im in there Im also going to a spool. Is there any write ups on this? I have no time to get it to a shop and thinking about trying this in my garage. Im entered in a race this SAT and have to change it to make it down the 1/4.
Any help would be great!
Thanks
Mike!

The S60 has screw adjusters like a 9 inch for backlash, so that should be simple. Since your changing the ring and pinion you'll need to set the proper depth for the pinion and you'll need shims for that. From watching the video it also looks like the S60 uses shims for the pinion rolling torque instead of a crush sleeve.
Boy, you're on a tight timeline for a first time gear install.
Here's some info I found on a Dana 60 gear install. The pinion setup should be similar to the S60 as they both use the same gearsets.

There's a place on Devon just east of rt 83 called Drive Train Service, 292 Devon Ave, phone 630 860-7474. I've bought some stuff from them, and they even pulled the bearings off my posi for no charge. Only drawback is you have to bring your rear end to them, they don't work on cars. Also I was talking to them about a solid spacer for my 10 bolt and they looked at me like I was crazy...Don't know if they do alot of HiPerf stuff. But they are very professional.
