Default Rear end setup

I want to upgrade my gears in the near future from the stock 3.42. to 3.90.
I would love to do the 'ultimate 10bolt' build on my stock rear end as well. I had a few questions about what needs to be addressed with the weak 10 bolt.

When researching this setup a few people have talked about 'welding the axle tubes', what do they mean by this? I figured they were already welded. Please correct my ignorance. Also what is the purpose of a 'solid pinion spacer' versus not having one? Do I need to invest in a 'main cap stud kit'? Is it a good idea to use the stock limited slip diff or upgrade? Are Motive gears a good choice or is there a better brand. Stock axle vs. upgraded axles? Fluids and additives? I plan on getting a LPW ultimate diff cover with the axle tube braces and replacing all bearings and seals.

I already have adjustable UMI lca and a phb as well as a body mounted adjustable torque arm. How well should I expect the rear end to hold up with this setup? My current mods are in my sig and I plan on getting heads in the future. The car will be mostly street driven and only see the track every so often and no drag radials or slicks. I don't plan on putting more than 500rwhp.

I would appreciate any input.
Thanks.

Here are a few posting where I am getting my info.
