Perhaps because the specs clearly state that rwhp is about 431 but the seller uses crank hp instead so the seller can advertise it as 500 hp.
I suppose I could say my 565 rwhp ATI D1 SC 98 Camaro Z28 is really about 650 hp and sticker it with 650 hp. But we all know it's not.

That's what it's rated from the factory. How is that any different from GM saying 98 z's are 305 stock? Should they not? Should they have said it's a 270 HP stock?
Not everyone in the world runs on rwhp numbers like us here at ls1tech. Not a single auto manufacture in the world rates their vehicles at the rear wheels.
If you go to a car show are talk to just about anyone about how much their car makes, and 9/10 you will hear a crank number.
And yes, if your car is making 650 at the crank, there is no reason you can't advertise it as such...because it is.
