Default Pictures of differential oil after 50k miles

I changed my differential oil to Mobil 1 synthetic, but here is the old oil...
(The new gear oil is the same color as motor oil)

I also painted my differential cover...

Thanks. The silver is a high temp Aluminum color that I got from Walmart, and I used a high temp clear coat also from Walmart. It was still drying in the picture, and I think it came out a bit shinier.

I somehow got a rag I mopped up with gear oil mixed up in the laundry with the good bathroom towels. Imagine getting out of the shower in the morning and grabbing a towel expecting to smell the fresh scent of tide but instead gagging at the smell of that nasty gear oil ****.

I laughed after I figured out what is was.

Quick story for you guys concerning gear oil LOL. I was helping a friend swap a 12 bolt into his SS. We began to disassemble the 10 bolt after the destruction that took place. Nothing wanted to come loose at all particularly that little pin that locks the c-clip paddle in place. Needed to get that off for the backing plates and reluctor wheels. I used a boxed end 6 point wrench on it and what do you know, broke the head off the little bastard After working on it for what seemed like hours we finally broke down and decided that the only way we were gonna get that thing apart was to get after it with a hot wrench (torch) As I started working on it, (nervious being gear oil could ignite and the fact that the gas tank is in close proximity to the rear to boot LOL) Anyways finally got that little bastard knocked loose with a BFH and as we celebrated I failed to realize that the catch can with the used gear oil was no more than maybe 2 ft from my head. My friend kicks it and next I know all goes dark, (I've been slimed LOL) Funny now to look back on but learned to never leave something under the car even if it was more of a PITA to move it because you never know what your friend might kick on accident.
