![Question](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
New rear wheel bearings and seals have been installed on both sides.
Before the job, the passenger side one had play when lifting the axle at the end. After the job there is still play and the reluctor wheel contacts the speed sensor.
The play is a good 3-4mm. My sensor isn't that beat up, but I can see where the reluctor wheel has been making contact.
What could be causing this?

If you have 3-4 mm of play something ain't right bro. You've got to have the wrong bearing on there or something. There are a few different axle/bearing setups. Maybe if you post up more details someone like Eric at MWC will weigh in. You shouldn't have any play at all.

Just figured out the issue. Since this was my first time doing this, I didn't recognize the groove in my axle being an issue. I ended up buying a new axle to compare them visually. The new one is missing the groove.
Now I have a new issue. I ordered a new axle for a traction control car and I expected it to come with a reluctor wheel. Problem is it didn't. How do I remove it from my old axle?

Cool that you found the issue. The reluctor comes off with a pry bar...a little gentle heat on the wheel helps. Do you have a press? You will have a hard time getting it back on if not, but it might be doable by freezing the axle and heating the reluctor.
I was thinking you were the guy with the 9", but you have a 10 bolt, right?

I have a 10 bolt sir.
I bought two crow bars last night and successfully got the ring off the axle.
Tommorrow I will be getting the ring back onto the new axle and hopefully putting it all back together.
I sincerely appreciate all your help and kindness.
