8.8 build question
8.8 build question I am about to do an 8.8 rearend build for my 2001 SS. I am going to use the stock axle tubes off my 10bolt. What I need to know is will a 31 spline axle fit my stock 10bolt axle tubes or do I need to change anything in the tubes?
Using rough numbers, the 10-bolt bearing surface is about 1.4" and the diameter of the 31-spline is about 1.3" so it should work. Of course you'll need a set of custom axles with that combination, but I'm sure Moser, Strange, or Dutchman could build them for you.
Thanks man...that's the plan, probably moser 31 spline axles...looking forward to receiving your torque arm bracket! Probably be the best looking piece on the rear when its finished! LOL
if i read your question right your basically asking if the 31 spline axles will fit in the 10 bolt bearings. if that is your question then yes they use the same part number for replacement bearings.
