Default Differential Identify

I'm going to be looking at a couple used diffs for my 95 formula.

The guy says its from a lt1 manual trans car, is there any way to tell from the outside housing that it will be correct? Or do I have to remove the cover and take a look?

Thanks
Steve

Hmm Im not sure, but alot of times by looking at the gears you can know. Hopefully someone comes in and gives a good advise.
