Default 10 bolt 4.10 or 4.56

hey guys, i have a 2000 gmc sierra 1500 with a 5.3...its got a 10 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears and 33 inch tires. for some reason, its a turd. i cant accelerate at all in overdrive. it downshifts if you push the throttle any little bit. i drive mostly city/town and rarely ever on the highway. i want to change the front and rear gears and maybe weld up the rear while im in there. my question is... 4.10 or 4.56? can you even get 4.56's for a 10 bolt? any ideas where to buy them? oh and eventually i plan on lifting it and putting 35's or 38's on it. Thanks

overdrive is for 'cruising',it should want to downshift when you try to accelerate in overdrive.
I don't know which variety GM 10 bolt you have,7.5,7.625,8.2,8.5,or 8.625 but no matter which you have,4.10s' & 4.56s' are available for all of them.
Front gears ?,don't know what's available for that end of the vehicle.

I agree, od is for cruising, so it will want to downshift when throttle is applied.

w/ 4.56's and 33in's you'll be around 60 something rpms at 2000-2200rpms. I'd go min 4.56's with a 33in tire. W/ a larger tire in the future I'd look into 4.88 or 5.13's. 5.13's w/ a 38in tire yeld similar rpms as the 4.56's w/ 33in. Right now you at 75ish mph at 2000ish rpms at 75mph w/ 3.73's w/ 33in tires
