Cant get it knocked in far enough to get the clip out, cant knock it out for the clip of course. Cant get the carrier out either.
help? I have given up. I'm ready to let it rot in the garage.

Sounds like the splines twisted enough to cause your grief, best to find another complete axle assembly.

I apologize if this is something you already know, but if youre 4 channel (tcs) you need to remove the wheel speed sensors to get the axles to slide in far enough.

If you already know that or it doesnt apply, I think youre looking at scrap values.
