Shortening the rear a few inches, Whats involved?
Can someone tell me what all is involved when you replace the rear with a shorter unit? I have only seen a few cars that have done this on an F body, and they look amazing with the right wheel combo.
I was just planning on buying a complete unit that a few inches shorter.
Thanks

Most places you get a 9 inch from will sell it shortened for no extra charge www.quickperformance.com builds them to whatever width you want $995 housing with axles and torque arm mount. Then you need wheels with less backspace. Not really major work or exspense if you are already buying a complete rearend anyways. Still need to buy center section that will be $1000 or more complete and set up to actually handle some power.

Its only around $200 for ends and labor to narrow a rearend , plus cost of new axles or cutting and resplining them we have a local shop close that does it. WS6ICK2K those are billet street lites. didnt really handle any different. I have coil overs in the rear , and all drag suspension . Doubt it would handle any different on stock style suspension.
