Moser vent question
Well my new Moser 12 bolt has been puking gear oil nonstop since I got it. I changed out the oil this weekend after a 500 mile break in, and now I see why. On the driver's side axle I believe there is supposed to be a vent tube. Well all that is there is a threaded hole. Does anyone know what size fitting I need to screw into that hole so I can attach a rubber hose to it? And where I can go about finding such a fitting? TIA.

There was a fitting included when I bought my 12-bolt. I don't remember if it was 1/4 NPT to 1/4" hose barb, or 3/8 NPT to 1/4" hose barb... I think it was 1/4. I went to AutoZone and bought a few feet of 1/4" fuel line, grabbed a hose clamp, and ran it up and over the top of the pumpkin. Definitely need to put that fitting in there...

Auto parts or hardware store, its 1/4" pipe thread male x 5/16 or 1/4" hose barb. Thet never seem to tap those holes straight so it will take some fooling with to get it to thread in..
That and make a loop of hose like in the pic with the end pointing down. Also make sure you filled the rear using the plug pn the side of the housing and not the fill hole in the aluminum cover if you have one. If you fill it up to the fill hole on the cover it will be way overfilled.
