4.10 issue in a 10 bolt

4.10 issue in a 10 bolt i am having a problem with the center block not wanting to go past the ring gear teeth on my 4.10's in my 10 bolt. is there a trick out there yall can think of to help me get this thing out?
You're supposed to grind that block down to fit with 4.10s as it's normally too big perhaps the po didn't grind quite enough. Maybe try and carefully but it with a file to knock it down

I tapped mine in with a hammer it was fine. had to take it back out and i just rotated the carrier so i could get to the back side and tapped it till it went passed the teeth then spun it back around and pulled it the rest of the way out with a pry bar

im gonna give the BFH/file mod a try and see how it works. the po knocked it in without removing any material from it im guessing....screwed me good

I did this swap in my 96 Firebird, with the stock carrier, you can't use 4.10s unless you start grinding and losing your strength. Go buy a s10 carrier from a junk yard. With some shimming, it will slide right in. My 4.10 swap was a success only from the s10 carrier. Not to mention it's thicker and stronger.
