Default Should I switch to 3.90s?

Entertaining the idea of a gear swap. I currently have a 3800 stall, 231/235 cam, and stock 3.23 gears. I wanted to buy 3.90s when I get a 9 inch, but Id like to try them first in my 10 bolt. see if I'd want to remain with 3.90s when I switch rears. am I going to notice a difference? pros? cons? I dont drive it much, and dont beat on it too often. thoughts? what gears are people running in autos?

3.73s' are the most popular setup,a few of the brave run 4.10s',I ran 4.56s' for 4 years.3.23s' and 3.42s' are good with a stall with 3.73s' most popular for a compromise between top end and acceleration.

What is your main focus for the car? Racing at the strip? Or daily driver?

Neither. I drive it a few times on the weekend. I most certainly don't daily drive it. Cruise on the weekend, some spirited driving. I just want fast acceleration

I'd go 3.90's then. You could go even go lower if you don't drive it much. That's what I'm switching to also. I'm more focused on racing though. You should be able to tell a good difference going from 3.23 to 3.90.

Ok that's good. I feel like any lower, like 4.10s is too much.

As noted above, you'll feel a noticeable difference between the 3.23's and the 3.90's.

I have 3:73 now with a 4000 stall converter which drives fine.I am putting in a 9 in. and going to 3:90.My car will cruise around 2400 at 65mph with 3:73 and I cant imagine 3:90 gears will be that much different.

That doesn't seem too bad. From 3.23 to 3.90 will be a bit higher.

From what i've read on a previous thread is that switching from a 3.23 to a 3.90, it will make it feel like the car has 17% more torque. Im not sure if thats true and i cant back up that information, but thats what i heard.
