Default 410 to much???????

hey i have a few ??????s.i have a 2000 ss m6 & i notice alot of people are going with 410 gears in the f-body m6. is this to much gear???? would the 410s make 1st gear useless???? if i take off from a very slow roll & go wot just mashing the go peddle,it is a dog until about 25mph & then it starts breaking the rear tires loose like you hit the nitrous or better yet it feels like a two stroke motor in its power band.thanx john

honestly, im thinking of switching back to the stock 3.42's it feels that 1-2 is useless, just spinning and wasted time shifting 3 and 4 really go but they are over so fast, 5th is useable but not fast. be prepared to put up with lots of shifting, lots of traction issues. IMO im not any faster till about 50 and it pulls hard as hell till about 110.

just my .02

I love the 4.11s... times and mph are in my sig.

IMO, 1st and 2nd are very useable as long as you have good tires and suspension mods. They will allow you to get out of the hole a lot quicker... and yes, you will top out at around 112-113 in 4th gear with a bolt-on only car (higher if you have a cam that pushes your redline up around 6500 rpms instead of the 6k stock), but who spends a lot of time over 100 mph on anything but a track anyhow?

4.10's are a great choice for the t56. but,if you have a 10bolt and no tires you will have no traction and if you get good traction your rear will break. i had 3.73's before and for a 10bolt they are a better choice. they will make the car a good tenth faster and pull herder(not 4.10 harder)and the 3.73's will last longer, you will notice a difference. 10bolt 3.73's 12bolt 4.11's goodluck to ya.

just get some taller tires. i got some 295/50/15 they are about 26.7 inches tall and about 10-11 inches wide. it spins about the same as my 3.73 used to on stock 17 inck tires.
