Default Racers that swapped from 10 bolt to S60 step in.

Well, I have put enough $$$ away to buy a rear end for the upcoming season. I have talked with Carl at CRP via PM and I think I would like to go that route. I do have a question though.

Has any body swapped rear ends, and made a comparison on performance without changing anything else? I know I am going to loose some performance, but how much?? Would going from my stock 3.23 up to 3.73 help make some of that back??

Thanks

Stardust, I make alittle more power than you and I lost 1 to 1.5 mph with the swap to the S60. Both my 10 bolt and S60 had 4.10s, only change to car was the rear end swap. I gained the mph back with a rocker arm change. My ET dropped .5 with the abililty to run bias ply ET Streets.

There will be a small difference in numbers, but at the end of the day you can have much better peace of mind being able to beat on the rearend as much as you possibly can and still drive home when you're done. At some point your et's may actually get better due to the fact you can launch the car harder.

Read this article. I know it's a s60 vs an m9 but at the end of the article they have Dyno comparisons for the 10 bolt vs the s60 both rears having the same gear ratio. The s60 lost 3.5% parasitic lost. The m9 was only 1%. The s60 is unbreakable for a reason! It's a friggin beast!! Hope this helps you out
