driveshaft length strange rear
Is it true that driveshaft length is the same for 1982-2002? I called Strange and tried to order a driveshaft for my 95 z28 with their 12 bolt. I assumed they would know the proper length. The sales person said they only had the length for 2000-20002. I have 1995 Z, M6, Strange 12 bolt. Will a shaft from a 2000-2002 be the same?

I just installed both a new Strange 12 bolt and steel driveshaft. Side by side, the new driveshaft looked to be exactly the same length as the stock aluminum one. The problem is, it just barely fit. It was on the long side and at first I thought it wouldn't go in. I had to work the u-joint around the yoke until it finally got into place. Now there is probably only 1/2" of axial movement available to allow for suspension travel. I haven't talked to Strange about it yet, but I will.

When I got my Dennys NS recently they told me that Strange changed the mounting brackets a hair that affected about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch difference in drive shaft length. If you call Denny's they have the measurements on hand. It just depends if the Strange is a recent build or an older build. Older builds take stock length, newer builds require a shorter shaft. Hope this helps.
