Default 3 channel to 4 channel diff swap.

I have an 02 formula non traction control, that I swapped the rear today with one from a M6 car. The formula had 2.73's while the camaro the other rear came from had the stock 3.42's. I drove the car around the block and the brakes seemed fine, but the Low Trac light was staying on and I don't remember this car ever showing that. When I swapped the rear ends, I also swapped the brake lines. Are there any issues with this? If so, is it anything hat can be tuned out? I have access to HP Tuners.

After reading another post I feel I should clarify.
I swapped the entire rear end, not just the carriers.
When I drove the car I wasn't getting any ABS inop light, just the Low Trac light. Brakes worked but I was getting that grinding rocks feel in my pedal, stopped fine though.

You mentioned 4 channel in the title but not in the post.
02 formula 2.73s' (A4 ?) 3 channel ABS.
M6 3.42s' (M6)(4 channel ABS & TC ?).
If above is true, you put a 4 channel rear into a 3 channel car. ABS will no longer function. A 3 channel car needs the carrier reluctor ring AND sensor at the top of the rearend. The two sensors on the axle ends of the 4 channel rearend will NOT integrate/compatable with the 3 channels' vehicle electronics.

Yes the formula is A4 with 2.73's non TC, so 3 channel. The other was 3.42 M6 diff with TC, so 4 channel. Is there no way to make this work? I have the other car that I can swap parts over with. In the meantime, can I drive the car? I kinda don't have a choice...

It'll just drive like a non-ABS car,regular old-time brakes.
Not really sure what you meant by you swapped the brake lines. A 3 channel ABS system has one line running from the front to a splitter/tee at the rearend. A 4 channel system has two lines running from the front, each line going to one wheel.

By swapping the brake lines I put the single line that splits to two onto the 4 channel diff. So that it would hook up to the line on the car already.

OK,so you used the line setup that was in the car for the replacement rear.

Yes. I drove the car around today, even in traffic on the highway. No problems. It stops just as well as before. I don't have the pulsing feel to the pedal, but that's of course due to the abs being off. I know if I slam the pedal to the floor it will lock but I rearly need to brake hard anyway.

The old rearend was making noise from somewhere. Not a whine, more of a whering sound. This one doesn't. So I'll get some new gears for the old 3 channel and when I have done I'll throw it back in.

the 02 A4 2.73 would have had a 2 series Torsen posi. Do you know what year the 3.42 rearend is ? 2.73 to 3.42 is a 25% increase of torque to the rear wheels, feels better doesn't it. Speedo is off that much too,60mph indicated is actually 75mph,unless you've already had the correction put into the computer.
