Default 3.73's or 4.10's

combo
heads/cam peaks @ 6300 but carries flat till 6600+
tci 3500 converter but will restall in the future for 4000+

basically with all the calculators i should be ok shifting @ 6600 without hitting 4th gear but you know how racing calcs can be so i need some advice...personally I'd rather go with the 4.10's. I run 26X9.5X16 hoosier QTP's. IM probably not gonna be able to lay down trap speeds of more than 115 for a while so whats that like 117 exit or so? Hopefully i can get some help.

Thanks
Bill

4.10's will get you 6200ish at 117. sounds perfect for what your doing..
btw. did i read this right? 2.73's? my god, are you going to love 4.10's

with that said, 3.73's might be better if you do a lot of freeway travel.
but, you would be giving up about 500 rpm's in the traps
what is more important to you

the only highway driving it sees right now is going to and from the track, my drive to work is less than 2 miles. Why 3.73's Mike? By all calculations 4.10's would gain me more mph & et then 3.73's would.

I just ordered a set of 4.10s for my car from New Era,they have a great GP right now for OEM gears and install kit,$200.I will try them in my 10 bolt and hope it still holds.
I have a Moser 12 bolt in my garage with 3.73s,when it goes in I can get a good 3.73 to 4.10 comparo.
