8.8 bearing caps

Default 8.8 bearing caps
Hey guys,

I pulled my 8.8 apart today. When I removed the bearing caps I remembered to mark my left and right caps, but I didn't mark them as which is top or bottom. Is that going to be an issue?

Well, 9" caps only fit one way. One would think that others would too. Betcha I could get them on the correct sides with the proper orientation even if unmarked...

I just did a gm 9.5 today
It had bump outs on one side if the cap
That faced out towards the tire
Not sure if 8.5 has that have not done one recently

The bumps on the side of the caps face to the tire on that side . That bump is over the shims when installed .
