No Goat

I haven't open either rear up yet but here's what I have. 1965 lemans factory open differential. Acquired Rebuilt BOP rear differential from 68 lemans with Posi and alloy axles. Problem: already have wheels and tires on car that fit the way I like, but 68 axle is 1.5" wider than current in car.

My thought is to swap the guts out of the 2 and of course after measuring whack .75" off newer alloy axles to make work for narrow older rear. Same bolt in style axles. Also considering disc brake adaptation from 99 s10 rear brakes. Any thoughts or experience folks?
