10 bolt c-clip
I saw in another thread where the repair bearings are available in different widths. Maybe these are the widest available.
I tried one last ditch effort to fish the ring out, with no luck. Then came out the air chisel. After a very careful, noisy hour, the clip came off of the passenger side.sure enough a big wide repair bearing in the tube. Now I'll move onto the drivers side with a little more knowledge on how to do it.
Note: to anyone doing this job,if you can swing it, don't use repair bearings. I bought (2) new shafts with bearings/seals off of Amazon for just under $250 shipped. It is well worth avoiding the headache.
I'll work on the drivers side tonight and then work on getting the bearings themselves out.
I need to just pick up a slide hammer. I'll use it again.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
After Amazon (Prime) took nearly a week to get my shafts, I started re-assembly. For some reason, the shafts came with news studs installed and an extra set per shaft. They came with lug nuts, bearings and seals. One of the bearings was missing a couple of the rollers, so I just bought some locally.
Long story short, the repair bearing weren't too bad to get out, and the new bearings went in well. As you can see, getting the clips on will be easy.
