Default My pinion nut came loose

What could cause that? Onthe last week I had put on the car a 12 bolt, UMI t/a, lca's, panhard and a Spohn sway bar. I have not set the pinion angle yet.

mine came loose stock. It happened right after i took it to the track and went hard on it. I dunno what caused it, but a big wrench, and some loctite fixed it.

Default pinion nut

Ok so I have an 05 durango and the pinion nut came off and drive shaft fell off. No whining, no slipping, nothing to indicate that anything was wrong. The only nose it made was the whining when decelerating and it only did it one day and then it came off. Does this mean everything is broken or just reattached? Someone please help because the shops around here only want to tall about changing the whole rear end.

9 year thread bump

Honestly bud its hard to say what happened in there. Main thing is (its flanged on the front right?) Did the yoke start working itself off? If the gears check out (visual inspection with the cover off) and there are no chipped teeth you could try to reset the pinion drag and pray for the best. Most shops dont wanna do this due to liability though I'm sure.
