Besides my rear pinion seal leaking, I've had good luck with my Moser 12 bolt. No noise, hard launches with no problems.
A guy on the other board did this which I think is a great idea and cheap:
This option proves to be cheaper than the 8.8.
The 12 bolt uses 3% less power but the 9" is a stronger unit and you can easily swap gears in the 9. If you're worried about weight, they make alum. center sections for the 9". It all comes down to personal preference and how much you want to spend. Many can't afford $2300 for the 12 bolt.
For a good article between 9" and 12 bolt, check this out:

SAVE YOURSELF THE AGRIVATION AND BUY A 9 INCH. Seriously I fixed my 10 bolt 4 times ($2,000) I have an auburn carrier even but it always gives trouble again. The strongest combination you can get for the 10 bolt will be 3.42 gears and an Auburn Limited-slip. The 3.42's put more stress on the carrier and so it requires the Auburn to have any chance of standing up. I'm tired of fixing mine and all the noises that it makes for the weeks/months leading up to it breaking. I finally did it, I bought a 9 inch, but I did it the CHEAP way. I got the housing, axles and everything but the centersection from Moser Engineering, that ran me like $1100 but because I have ABS it was more than normal. Then I bought the centersection from Ebay, got a rebuilt one with a posi for $375. TOTAL COST = $1475! THATS FOR THE STRONGEST READEND FOR OUR CARS! Not even the 12 bolt is as strong as the 9 inch!

Hey craig,
Dont u guys have a phone number i can call to speak with someone before i order the rear end? Also can u answer my questions:
What do u think i should get as in options. I have around 530-550rwhp now and my goal will be close to 750-800rwhp when i get done with this car. I drag race it from time to time, but i would like to launch at high RPM and lift those front tires up when i do so. What is the T/A gridle? What do they mean by bolt in axles? Whats the difference between the 1350 yoke and 1330 that comes with the standard 8.8? Should i go with Eaton HD, Aurbun or Torsen carriers? Is the detriot locker worth it or is it too much for a daily driver or road course car?
Thanks

Im not going to break the 8.8inch with Nitto drag radials right even with that much power?

Nope man theres no way you will break an 8.8 with nittos no matter how much power you are making and if you go with the detriot locker you won't brake an 8.8 with slicks either.

How would the detriot locker behave on the street and road course?

I just ordered mine from Craig. He told me it would take 3 weeks for mine to get done. I ordered mine with the 3.73 gears, T/A Gridle and Eaton HD. I left the bolt on axles on mine. I really will need the rear end as soon as possible since my car is not going anywhere with the messed up 10 bolt. I might hold up the Supercharger install until i get few high 11's runs with the new rear end N/A

He was in the hospital so that could be the reason for the delays, but he told me he is out now and going to finish the rear ends that are on order.
