Default Driveshaft with 8.8

Hi guys. I was just wondering, those of you who has done the 8.8 swap with the 1350 yoke, what driveshaft or length do I need to make this work. Do I need to order a custom driveshaft or can I just install a hybrid u-joint on the factory driveshaft. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm. I'm not sure how a 1350 pinion yoke affects the length. But you definitely can use the stock driveshaft and the stock Explorer pinion yoke (it's 1330 I believe) if you get a Precision 355 u-joint.

Dennys Driveshaft has a lot of information on the yoke lengths.

A custom driveshaft is by far your safest bet, especially if you have invested in a 1350 yoke already. The stock driveshaft is very weak and prone for failure. The cost of the repairs from a failure will far exceed the cost of a descent new aftermarket shaft, then you still have to replace the shaft when the repairs are done!
