Et improvement potential switching from 3.89's to 4.56's
Guys, quick question. Any feedback would be great. At first I was planning to spray my car, then switched to putting a single turbo in. Now, real life has the best of me and I can't do either right now. Kids, house, etc. Last on my list is gears. That's doable now. I'm NA, heads cam, 460 rwhp with 3.89's in a 9" rear. I race mostly 1/8 mile, running in the 7.60's on average and go through the traps at 94mph, about 6000 rpm. My cam peaks at 6400 and carries to 7k. Torquer V3. I've had a best of 1.68 short time on hoosier qtp's. What kind of improvement can I expect by switching to 4.56's and a 26" et drag stiff wall slick? I know the et drag is actually a 26.5 tire and will grow about an inch. Counting on that to give me the room rpm wise to make it through the traps at the top of 3rd gear, about 6800-7k. I'm m6 with a ls7 clutch, switching to a monster Lt1-s probably next year.

Going to a stiff wall slick is going to help you a ton. My buddie Brian was running 10.7s all day with a regular full 28" M/T slick... He put a stiff wall slick on the car now it runs a 10.5s all day long (same track). It tremendously lowered his 60ft making the car get down the track quicker..His car is a all motor M6 car as well.. I can't speak on how effective the gear swap will be tho...
