Default 9" worth

My buddy find a 9 inch literally just sitting in his yard next to a model A. It's clearly an old piece but in decent shape and it's not filled with water so that should be good.

Mounting this thing in my A body is going to take some work and bracketry but what do you guys think a compete 9 inch assembly is worth? Is $100 too much? Not enough. He told me to make him an offer and chances are he'll take it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone

$100.00 is a good price as you don't know anything about the condition of it. Bob

Really depends on what it would cost to get it to the point of where it is useable to you. A 9" factory housing were built in a few various forms, some stronger than others. Most of the time your going to be better off to just cut the tubes off completely and replace with material that is better quality than what the oem used, especially if the housing came from a car that had the coil spring suspension originally.

The issue at matter is really with the cost of purchasing the core, then spending the time and money to do all the work to get it useable. You may find it is much simpler and more cost effective to buy a new housing that is built direct for the car you are working on.
