Had my Moser 12 bolt for about 1,000 miles. Went through the break-in period, changed the fluids, everything seems cool.

Recently it started, during acceleration there is no noise. When I let off and decel is howls.

Any ideas?

Running 75-90 oil, should I go thicker?

I think if it howls on decel you are supposed to tighten the pinion nut some more...dont quote me but im pretty sure...

Don't do that. All that is going to do is increase the pinion bearing preload. You need to check the pattern with gear marking compound. Pitch whine is usually caused by incorrect pinion depth. Basically, the gears are set up wrong.

Moser sets up the gears for drag racing so they're gonna whine unless you get lucky and they set them up more toward street duty.

damn mine whines on accell

Mine howls on accel from 65 to 75 mph. It did so after I started racing it hard.
