Default Turbo car gearing.

I have a third gen Camaro with turbocharged 370 in it planning on making around 1000hp. I have a powerglide with a 1.80 first gear. Running 28x10.5s. Hope to run low 9s. What rear gear should I run?

I have never had anything in that league but I think you will need to list the rpm you will be shifting at as that will be a factor.

You will need low enough gearing ( numerically ) to make what mid 140's mph ?? on a 28" tire at X rpm , form there you would know what the lowest gear is that will allow the mph you will need to hit low 9s and probably run a slightly higher gear than that for room to grow ??

I have a very similar setup in a 2750lb car. I'm moving to a glide verses the 80e innit now. I'm running the same tire and have a 3.25 gear. I trapped 168mph right near 7000rpm unlocked. I except more from the glide since I can leave with more rpm and more boost to cut the same 1.3x or better 60 foot. I may move to a 3.0 rear gear after getting some passes on the setup

When you calculate rpm, know your tires only measure in the 27 inch area. I realize they grow, but they smaller than advertised
