Default No adjuster nut clip? Please help Ford 9" third member

Hey guys. I'm doing a 9" swap and had to rebuild my 3rd member first. The case had to be replaced. I'm on a budget so I had to buy a used case. It appeared to be in good shape and the speed shop that rebuilt it approved. The problem though was that the bearing caps do not have holes drilled for the clips that help retain the adjuster nuts like the old caps had. Anyone ever seen this? Is it safe to install? Do I torque the caps harder? You cannot move the adjuster nuts with the caps in place as is. Should I weld the clips in place? Someone please help. I will be trying to install tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance

Justin
