Default Setting pinion lash with setup bearings.

2000 ws6 getting 4:10 gears. My question is I've hollowed out the bigger outer pinion bearing to setup lash but do I also need the smaller inner pinion bearing hollowed out for a setup bearing or is the slip fit loose enough to drive the pinion back out without damaging the bearing? I've never done this before with the setup bearings. I've normally just matched the stock shim packs and they've been okay but my failure was more than likely due to improper shimming by shop so I cannot go off of their shim thickness.

Default

The smaller bearing is tight. It can be done without making a setup bearing but its a pain in the butt. After doing it that way a few times i always end up making one.
