Default Drive shaft questions

Hi everyone, I swapped a ls6/tr6060 into my 1978 trans am. Of course that means my old drive shaft is useless. The new transmission has a 3 bolt flange, and I'm not looking to convert any internals of it to accept a slip yolk at this time. 8.5 inch 10 bolt diff (3.73 gears, auburn posi, axels...etc)

what are my options for driveshaft? Clearly a custom one but as far as a single or 2 piece, etc. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it! Thank you

It HAS to have a slip somewhere, cant be fixed at both ends with a solid rear axle. Seems weird to not convert the trans and be done with it.

yea I figured... I didn't realize till trans was bolted in and everything was done. What goes into converting the tr6060, do I need to pull trans or is it removable from the tail section? What are my other options? I know they make adapters to go from the flat flange to a u joint so maybe a split shaft would be my best bet

Im not super familiar with either of your questions but my guess on the trans is it would have to be mostly disassembled to have the output shaft replaced? I know thats not the answer you want to hear. As far as two piece or slip shafts, i have nearly no direct experience with them.

I'll contact some 4x4 shops to see what they can do and if I can't go with a slip shaft, then I guess trans is coming out

Your either going to spend a lot of money on the transmission switching it to use a slip yoke, or buy an expensive driveshaft. I would just get the custon cv driveshaft made for your trans, or sell it and get a t56.
