Default Rear end problems.
Hello i have a 1999 camaro z28 m6..alright so my rear end is making a whine sound and it gets really bad if I go above 50mph. Only when i am pressing on the gas pedal, if I let up the whining stops. When I put my foot on the gas again it starts again.Like almost unbearable. I changed out the fluid, the gears look fine. I changed out the rear pinion seal, filled it back up with a bottle of limited slip fluid and 80/90w and the problem still persists. Any other ideas on what it could be? Thanks

second rear end problem...sometimes when I am turning right I hear a loud bang coming from the rear end. It doesn't happen all the time. So could it be a bad beating? Axle?

Whine sounds like a bearing issue. Bang sounds like a torque arm mount or other bushing issue.

It's definitely not the torque arm bushing. There is still a lot of bushing on it.

01ssreda4,since he's got a 99 with torsen,could the torsen be failing internally ?

when you are turning and it bangs, does the car shutter as well? my car did that when i broke 2 teeth off the diff unit

You sure the whine is not coming from the trans, and the banging isn't a broken trans mount?

I've seen loose upper shock mounts, LCA mounts, panhard mounts all cause banging noises under various conditions. Lift the car, let the rear hang, move the axle around and you'll likely find the source
