Axle runout on the S60
After about five passes on the slicks I'm thinking I bent my axles.

Is that a new or used S60. If it is new what axle shafts did you get? Hard to believe they bent after a few passes. If its used, whoever may have slid it into a curb to do that.

It purchased from Strange and has 35 spline street/strip axles

Wow that's crazy. I would be calling Strange immeadiately. No way that should have happened. I have heard some not so good reviews on those SS axles. We went with the pro series axles. Lots of passes and lots of street driving. All's good so far. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Nothing but good things to say about Strange Engineering. From what I've been told by tech support is that the run out at the end of the flange should only be .005 and I'm getting around 0.020 at the flange so I'll leave it up to the pros at Strange to inspect them and get back with me..

I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with? I wish I had checked it before installation but had no reason to doubt that everything is as it should be. I retained my traction control and everything seemed to be working fine other than feeling some vibrations up around 80-90 mph. It was after the trip to the strip that I feel something has gone wrong! Now I'm debating if I should keep running the street axles or opt for the racing ones. I've heard of people running the race ones on the street but from what I've been told they are susceptible to snapping as they don't have any give in them.

I'll stick a dial indicator on em next week when I'm back at the shop and post up my findings. The rear was behind a 4l80e turbo build car, but it never made it to the track and only had about 1500 miles of street driving put on it. But If your's acted up after just a few hits at the track, then we shall see if I'll be replacing/upgrading axles, i sure hope not.

Everyone says don't run Pro series axles, pro series gears, or a pro series spool on the street. And that's exactly what we run. We do have 40 spline axles though. Just changed the ring and pinion last weekend for numerical reasons. Been running it 3 years on the street and at the track and the parts showed absolutely no wear. Lash was still .007. Make sure you run the Lucas gear oil they recommend. 85-140 Never have heard anything negative on the pro series stuff. Most everyone I knows runs the pro series Strange stuff. On the street and strip. Never heard anyone saying anything bad on their rear ends. I do know that wheel hop is a axle killer. Stick shift Hell. But usually the drive shaft cuts loose first.
