Yellow Bullet seems indicate PST.
I've read some experts think the car needs to be lighter than 2,500 pounds to really benefit from a CFDS.
Probably best to talk to QA1, PST, The Drive Shaft Shop, Mark Williams for the specific application.

With that said, my full weight 99 TA has a Drive Shaft Shop carbon fiber drive shaft from RPM Transmission. I explained what I wanted for my TA and RPM selected a carbon fiber drive shaft from the Drive Shaft Shop.
No issues with the CFDS in one year and 10,000 miles.

Well, I was just figuring a factory aluminum shaft will not hold up long to high power, the steel factory shaft won't last much longer. Since the CFDS comes with a full lifetime warranty, what the hell. I'll pay $1,100 one time.

Its a full weight 100% street car....but I guess if I want to hit the track with it for fun with some good tires, it'll hold up also.

Midwest Chassis contacted me about the PST shaft......warranted for life.

I wouldn't go CF on a 100% street car at all. Call midwest or whomever to make a chromoly 1 that will hold up to the abuse of street driving with rocks kicking up etc.

I actually do....LOL

PST said absolutely no issue with running a carbon fiber on the street and the lifetime warranty will be guaranteed.

But....will a chrome-alloy DS hold up to 1,000+ RWHP on the street...? If its just as good and its cheaper than the Carbon fiber, maybe I'll go chrome-alloy.

A steel driveshaft will hold 1000whp on the street....but to quote a website....."The downside to carbon fiber is twofold. First, make no mistake that it’s expensive. But secondly, it doesn’t handle damage well. As Raymond pointed out to us, an aluminum or steel driveshaft can take a scratch and be okay for use for quite some time, but any damage to a carbon fiber shaft is going to cause it to fail at the damage point sooner rather than later." The 2nd reason is what I was referring to as to why it's a bad idea for 100% streetcar. Rock chips and debris will tear into a carbon fiber driveshaft over the long term.

Any material DS will hold, if its built properly with the right level material. Each material will get lighter and more expensive. Strength is similar. Generally it goes steel<chromoly<aluminum<CF.

Been running a PST carbon on the street for two years, and no issues at all. My brother also has a carbon PST on the street with zero issues, both cars are full weight street cars making over a 1000rwhp.

I love how light they are, so easy to take out and put back in. The other big benefit is need for DS loop, if it comes a part it won't ruin the bottom of your car.

Well worth the money for me.

An aluminum fbody shaft without ujoints or a yoke probably weighs 2 pounds......and we are praising CF for the weight? Gimme a break.
