Are any parts out of a 7.5 10 bolt useable in the 8.6 10 bolts?

What’s up y’all, I’m one of those guys you told not to rebuild the 7.5 but went ahead and rebuilt the 7.5, after getting all new Yukon parts the whine didn’t go away at all. Let a mechanic set the pinion depth and shim the diff and the mechanic replaced the bearings and races twice before concluding I must have distorted the houseing.
I have this in an 02 trans am ws6. I also have an 02 Silverado that needs a rear end rebuild. I think it’s an 8.6 inch 10 bolt under there, I’m wondering if anyone knows if I can re use some of these new parts and/or races and bearings if I swap the 8.6 into the trans am.
Also not sure if the housing being distorted is a big deal or if it can be driven without causing damage to parts.
Looking for the cheapest way out for now, I won’t be putting the ford 9 inch in until a few years from now

You didn't state if you used a new gearset or re-used the existing set.
M6 or A4 ?
I doubt that the housing is distorted, but could be.
As all the original bearings wore in(a natural occurrence),lash and pinion preload changes and a new/different wear pattern is established. So the existing wear pattern was tried to be set to the original quiet pattern and very slim chance of that.
I think the only common parts are the carrier bearings.

It’s all new parts new ring and pinion. Along with all new bearings..
I have the M6
The noise started when I downshifted to race another trans am, and in the beginning only made noise while accelerating and holding speed. Now, the noise is present from 40-75+ mph at all times getting louder as speed increases then starts quieting down around 80.

Well that’s too bad, I guess I’ll be pulling another 7.5 out of an fbody from the junkyard.
Are there any other noises that a mechanic can mistake for rear end noise?

getting a rear from a junkyard, potentially it could be quiet,or as noisy as yours,or noisier than yours. It's a 'roll of the dice'.
Other than gear ratio, yours being an M6 and if original would be 3.42s,is the concern of 3 channel ABS OR 4 channel ABS and Traction Control.
