Default Looking for a new rear end

Heya all! I am currently sporting the stock 10bolt rear. It was originally an A4 and I kept the gear ratio (3.23) when I swapped over to an M6. Gas mileage on the highway is crazy good. Around 27-30 MPG. Because the gears run around 1500 rpm at 70mph in 6th. Though it is shitty in street acceleration. I was thinking of swapping with a Strange S60 series. There are a few different options. What do you guys think about the strange or other rear ends. I would like to hear some opinions. Thanks.

For a manual trans fbody wanting to make some decent power, and hook that power with a good sticky tire, I'd only consider a S60 or 9" rear. With that said the S60 is the best bang for buck IMO (at least when talking new prices) and I hear the fitment is extremely good. This is probably the rear I'll go with

S60 is what I am thinking about. I hate that they don't have a 3.90 gear ratio available. It fits better for in town driving over a 4:10. I know it is is a bit heavier than the fabed 9" out there.

Yeah but that fabed 9 is so damn expensive. I know you get a torque arm and such, but still...The regular stamped 9 and S60 are similar in weight though, and the S60 eats a little less power which is nice. Funny you mention the 3.90's as that's the exact gear that I'd want lol. I'm still not ruling out a great priced used 12 bolt with a 3.90 gear. It would have to be a smoking deal though for me to do that

Yeah, that is my issue with the nice fabbed stuff. Hella expensive. I don't need their torque arm, I already have a poly adjustable torque arm. Along with on car adjustable LCAs and panhard. I am about to stuff a larger cam and some better heads on the block and am trying to figure out the best thing to do at the same time. I am thinking that a FASTR102 with rails & injectors with a NW102 TB and tuned SD might be better than the rear

Well getting a stronger rear is a smarter mover over getting the intake, but obviously costs more, and doesn't ad power. I'd also consider buying used to keep the price more reasonable

I picked up an s60 off a member here a few months back. Absolutely beast of a rear end, fit in just as easy as the 10 bolt came out. For new prices can't beat the s60 I don't think, and if you can find a smoking deal on used one, even better! I've got 3.55's in mine, which is a huge improvement over the 2.73's my 10 bolt had in it. Mines the 35 spline S trac I believe, and have 1/2" studs. Mine was also narrowed 3 inches per side to open up a little more more for wheel choice.
